Another One's Done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made it through this weekend!!!! I am exhausted though :-0 HUGE YAWN :-0.

The tournament ran quite smoothly despite me, the rookie on Excell spreadsheets. We also had a bit of trouble with the tournament program and its stupid way of doing things. If you type in a name with all CAPS and then type it in again with only CAPS on the first letter of the name it thinks that it is 2 different bowlers. AaaaaaaaaaaKKKKKKKK!!!! Hair pulling out time!!! Anywho we managed pretty well. Yesterday was a bit stressful for several of the workers as we did not have our people who have done the tournament for the past several years and are quite comfortable with all these programs there (they went to Tampa Bay for a vacation!!! Boo!!!). We also had one of our Board members away as her mom is very ill in the hospital.

Entries were down a bit. Several people did not come because of bad driving conditions. They were from both Saskatoon and Regina. All in all it went well and now I'm ready to relax and sleep.

Bruce and I were at the bowling centre at 7:30 yesterday morning. After the last shift was over and cleaned up etc. We headed home. We decided to stop at the chinese restaurant for the buffet as it's fast and good. We got home about 8:30 and both of us immediately fell asleep! Up early again this morning. Bruce had to be at the lanes at 7 am so I went on my own and got there at about 7:45 am. These early mornings were after I spent from 3:00 until 10:30 pm at the lanes on Friday night inputting data for the tournament. Talk about bowlers leaving it until the last moment to get their entries in. Even with all that we were still inputting entries in at 10 am Saturday morning.

Finally An Update!!!!

I decided that I should really sit down here tonight and update my Blog. I know that I've been quite neglectful at this lately. I've been busy with getting ready for the Youth Scholarship Tournament that happens next weekend.

What's been going on lately???? Let's see........... I've been busy redoing all my forms for this year. Not only did I have to change the dates, but also times. Sometimes when I would make a supposedly simple change it would screw the form up completely and I would have to try and get it back again. I also did the poster and mailed out everything a few weeks ago.

I have also been busy with the CTF Youth Nationals. I made a congratulatory banner, that is sent out to all associations, to congratulate their Youth Bowlers. It is also a means of raising funds for this event as the associations buy the banners. I had this idea of having a bowling ball heading toward the pins with the caption " Rolling Out Our Wishes.........Bowl Them Over". Everyone on the committee really liked it.

Last week I got my hair trimmed. I'm trying to grow it out a bit, not long, but a little longer than it's been. I also had it coloured and highlights put in. I really like it. Bruce likes it too.

This weekend I'm working a tournament at Ed's in WEM. It's an association tournament, same sort of format as the Youth tourney. It will give me practice on using the Excell spreadsheet. I'm on my own with the registrations for the Youth tourney as the previous director will be on holidays this year. So far I have managed to get the registrations done pretty well. Luckily, Shirley sent me the spreadsheet she had done in the past so I didn't have to start from scratch. I found a 'cheat sheet' at Staples the other day for Excell and it has helped me with a couple of things so far.

I have installed a wireless keyboard, mouse and numeric pad on my laptop. It makes typing a lot easier. I think that after the bowling season is over, I may look for the 'Excell for Dummies' book and attempt to learn a bit more on the program. I would also like to get a bowling tournament program on the computer so I can run tournaments from my own laptop.

We finally had a change in the weather. It was sitting at between -15 and -20 C for about 2 weeks and yesterday it was about -6 and today it went up to +4. A really nice change!! I really need to get my car washed though!!!!!!!!!!! It is no longer white, but grey and muddy.

I guess that's it for tonight. It is going to be very busy the next couple of weeks, but I'll try to update sooner.
