OMG !!!! I'm Going CRAZY !!!!!!!!????????

I HATE birds flying around me, thus the reason I'm going f#%&ing crazy. We have baby magpies, YUCK! Yesterday there was one. Today there were 2 and tonight there were 3 in the backyard. The adult birds go stark raving mad whenever anyone opens the back door. Clara can't go outside during the day as there is a constant LOUD SQUAWKING of magpies. I let her out after it had been quiet for an hour or so and within 2 minutes the adults were back squawking at her and she won't come back inside. It is driving me NUTS!!!! Today, I even had to park my car out front as to avoid the frigging birds.

Any ideas on how to get rid of them???? How long before baby magpies learn to fly???

Here is a pic of Oscar I took last night. I had this basket sitting on top of my "island" and came into the kitchen to find him sleeping here. It was soooooo cute. Eventually, he curled up into a little ball and slept there all night.



The colour isn't too good but I finally managed to take a few photos of my creation. Can you tell what the base used to be??????




I think that it turned out really good. Now I just have to get a couple of stools!

A Stanley Cup Tonight??????

This seemed to work on Saturday, so I thought I should do it again today. This city is crazy!!!!! The police and Mayor are telling fans to stay away from Whyte Avenue tonight if they want to stay out of trouble. You could be arrested for stepping off the curb!!! Thanks to the idiots who vandalized businesses and telephone booths and set fires!!!!!

I will probably do the same as I have for all the other games, flip the channel to see what's happening while Bruce is at Gateway for the game. At noon today they had sold 11,000 seats @ $5.00 each for tonight's game on the big screens. There are only 15,000 available and the tickets are on sale until 4:00 pm. I think that they will sell out tonight!!!!!! FYI Joanne, this is a family friendly, non-alcohol event. After Saturday's game I could hear the cars honking and loud cheers coming from Rexall Place as the fans left.

Thank goodness, the sun is shining right now. They are calling for thunder storms later today though!!!! I hope not, cuz I'm not too thrilled at the possibility of cleaning up water in the basement again!!!

I suppose I should get going and do a few things this afternoon, like some laundry, yech!!!!

This Weather Sucks!!!!!!!!!!

I am really getting tired of the sucky weather we've been having this week. Rain, rain and more rain!!!! I thought that the 'Farmer's Almanac' said we were in for a HOT/DRY summer. There may be hope though, as summer isn't technically here until Tuesday or Wednesday.

Last night at around 11:00 Bruce and I were down the basement cleaning up WATER!!!!!!!!!! We seemed to have had a leak of some sort. We are not sure where the water was coming in as the water was in the middle of the house. Possibly coming in through or around the chimney. I checked this morning and there appears to be NO more water, thank goodness.

My island is coming along. It is almost finished. We ran into a snag with the supports that hold the top up (they split when they were screwed to the base). Bruce put another piece of wood along side and screwed it into the original supports and the base, so the problem is now solved. He also put in a shelf for me for the mixer. Now I have to fill the screw holes and do some touch-up painting and do another coat of grout and it will be done. I may take a photo later to show you my creation.

Little Oscar was quite spooked this morning. I'm can't quite figure out what he was afraid of though. Bruce went into the bathroom for his shower and Oscar started running around in his little crouched way and tried to hide somewhere, but couldn't find a safe place to hide!!!! I finally decided that he was spooked by the wind and closed the kitchen window and then he seemed to settle down. Oscie is such a funny little guy! One of his favourite things to do is come into the bathroom with me. That is where he lets me pet him the most. Silly little boy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not much else is going on here. I'm getting excited about Joanne's visit next week. I still have a tonne of cleaning up to do before her arrival though. Bruce hasn't been around much to help out lately. he has been watching all the hockey games at Gateway and today he has gone golfing and then is heading straight over to the bowling centre for the game.

Did anyone see the report the other day on how much a man's work around the house is worth? I really laughed at it, they said it was worth $71,000 a year. A women's work is worth $130,000 per year!!!!! I don't think that's the case here as Bruce doesn't do any dishes, laundry, cleaning and very little of the cooking. A lot of the time it is a big chore for him to cut the grass. It's been over 2 weeks since the grass was cut and I don't know when he will do it now. I can't do it as I don't know how to start the lawnmower!!!!! tehehehe.

Well, I suppose that's about all I have to report for today. I think I will attempt to do some of the work on my island so I can get it done.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!

Thought I should sit down tonight and write a bit in here as it's been a while. Joanne thinks that something is up when I don't write here.

Not too terribly much has been happening here. Everyone is caught up in the 'Stanley Cup' thing, except me. Bruce has been watching all the games at Gateway and although he asks if I want to go too, I've just been staying home. For one thing I don't really care for the crowded atmosphere of the lounge during the games and I really don't have the desire to sit and watch it for 3 hours. Everyone knows that Hockey is NOT my thing!!!!

I have been puttering around the house doing odds and ends of things. Tonight I cleaned out the pantry cabinet. The other day I did the bank of 4 drawers in the kitchen. I have also finally gotten around to doing my island for the kitchen. Bruce helped me with the top ( affixing it to the base) and I finished it by tiling it. Now I just have to paint the base and grout the tiles. I think it will be quite nice when it's done. I should have it done this week (as long as I can keep Oscie out of the paint!!!! He has been quite curious as I've been working on it. We also put up new venetian blinds in the spare room and computer room. I made a new curtain for the bathroom and am planning on painting the baseboards (finally).

Today I did exciting things like picking up food for the Puddy Tats. I changed Oscars food a while ago. He really seems to like the new food and today I bought him another flavour to try (chicken) he was busy gobbling it up a while ago. After a year on the same food, he was getting tired of it and since he is supposed to eat mostly wet food, I asked the vet if there was another type he could have. Soonie and Clara also seem to like this food, although they don't seem to get too much as Oscar always eats first!!!! This evening I went to WalMart and picked up Advil, toothpaste, vitamins, paper towel, toilet paper and kitty litter. I also needed to get Zantac and antacids. My usual stuff needed from WalMart!!!

I guess that's about it for tonight. Good news, The Oilers won tonight 2 to 1. Yeah!!!!!!!
