Belated Christmas Wishes

I want to wish everyone a belated 'Merry Christmas' out there. I hope that you all had a great one!! Was Santa good to everyone????

Ours was rather quiet. Bruce caught a really good cold last Wednesday and he was not feeling that great for a few days. We went out to Jen's in-laws for Christmas Eve dinner. It was great! When we got home, I decided that I should make the Dream Salad for Christmas Dinner at Jen and Trev's (she asked me to make it). I got it all done before I hit the sack. Bruce and I opened gifts about 10:00 am and after that I made bacon, eggs, toast and hashbrowns for Brunch. I had a bit of a rest in the afternoon, just for an hour or so, before we got ready to go to Jen and Trev's for Christmas Dinner. We were the first to arrive and we opened gifts with them. Dinner was wonderful. As most everyone knows, turkey is my favourite meal.

I woke up Boxing Day morning with a belated gift from Bruce..........his cold!!!! I spent the day wrapped up and taking it easy hoping to get rid of it quickly. I don't feel too bad today, although not really great. His cold was in his head mostly and mine has hit in the chest. It's been quite a long time since I had one of these colds/flu. I need to go out this afternoon to get some medicine at the pharmacy for a chest cold though!!!!!!!!!

Santa was very good to me!!! I got a beautiful GUCCI watch from Bruce (although we have to order a different size as the jeweler didn't have a large one), a really nice RED bathrobe, some pieces of my dishes, calendar, Tim's coffee and coffee mug, book, St. Elsewhere DVD, a meat slicer and the most romantic gift of all new windshield wipers (tehehehehehe!!!!!!). I also talked to both Jill and Joanne on the phone, so that made my Christmas complete.

It seems so quiet around here today, after having Bruce home most of the time since last Wednesday. He did go to work on Friday, though. I suppose I should go and do a few things today around the house. We are having New Years dinner here and I want to be ready and organized for that. My back has been so bad lately that it takes me a long time to accomplish things.

I'm Pooped!!!!

I was quite busy today. I started off with some wrapping and then I went and had lunch with Bruce before doing some shopping. I've got almost all my Christmas shopping done. I have to pick up a couple of bottles tomorrow for the boys at Gateway that always look after getting and returning my bowling balls each week. I also have to pick up Jill's gift that I ordered and just arrived.

Today I went to pick up something for Bruce at Best Buy and then went out to Sherwood Park to finish of the few other things left on my list. I still need to get some groceries and liquor. Other than that it's just finishing off my wrapping and packing up the stuff to go to Jill's and Jen's houses.

Now I'm sitting here yawning and thinking of going and laying down for a while. Bruce was having a 'meeting' with his chasers tonight. It is actually a thank-you for all their hard work over the last few months (with being so short-staffed) and a good-bye get together for his assistant Brian who is leaving at the end of the week.

That's it for me as I can't stop yawning :-O

Celebrities I'm Sick Of.......

Alright, there are some so-called celebrities that I am absolutely sick of hearing about.

1. Brittany Spears. Thank God my girls are too grown up to be in awe of this person. She's 25 years old with 2 very small children and already has 2 marriages under her belt. GREAT Role Model for the young girls of today?????????? She Boo Hoo's because of all the nasty press she gets, well girl you deserve it ALL. This latest escapade with the see-through dress is enough. Her mother should be ashamed of herself to be caught out on her birthday with a child dressed like that!!!!!!

2. Paris Hilton. This girl was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, but she has NO Talent whatsoever. Just because you can buy your way into the limelight doesn't mean there is something worthwhile watching, listening too or reading about.

3. Nicole Ritchie. Would we have ever heard of her if she hadn't been friends with P.H. and managed to do that horrendous t.v. show with her???????????

4. Anna Nicole Smith. A former playboy bunny whose claim to fame was being married to an 80+ year old multi-millionaire and the court case over his estate when he died. Now it has to do with the birth of her baby girl and the death of her son. Now, I feel sorry that her 19 year old son died suddenly, but what has gone on since then is quite tiresome. The poor boy wasn't laid to rest for weeks after his death and then in the past week or so I heard rumours that he was going to be exhumed and returned to the U.S.

So, lets get off of these so-called celebs and find something better to report on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moonlighting Pussy

Yesterday I spent the day puttering around the house doing this and that. I also was doing laundry, so while I was waiting for the wash to be finished and ready to throw in another load, I thought I would look through the few flyers we received with the Examiner. Now I know what the cats do when I'm not home.........Well at least Toodle Bugs gets out and does some modeling. I always knew she was cute and with a little 'air brushing' she is slim and trim.

But, I want to know where the money is that she earned doing this photo shoot????????

Well, the weather here has finally gotten warmer. Today when I went outside, it was like a 'heat wave' NO WIND and the temperature was -3 C. It was the first day in weeks that my hands didn't freeze in the car!!!!!

Our little Oscie was being a 'Little Brat' last night..... Toodle Bugs was sleeping in her favourite chair, minding her own business, when Oscar decided that he should sleep in the chair. First of all he jumped up onto the chair and sat there for a bit, then he proceeded to have a bath. Finally he layed down beside Toodle Bug and kept moving over until Soonie had enough and she had to leave. It was quite amusing to watch, I must say!!!!!

Today, I decided that I should get Joanne and Eric's parcel sent....I must have had a case of Alzheimer's Disease because I couldn't find what I had done with their new address. I have over 400 messages left on my e-mail but of course, not that one. As soon as I'm finished here I will go and write it in my address book!!!!!!!!!!

Not too much else is new here as it has been too friggin' cold to do a whole lot. I went out shopping on Friday for a while and have been suffering with my knee and hip ever since. I think it has to do with the parking lots and the ice on them. I am so afraid of falling that I don't walk properly and end up hurting myself. Joys of getting old, I suppose.

Tomorrow it's off to the post office to get that parcel sent and possibly do some shopping. I hope it's not too bad out as we are expected to get 5 cm of snow.
