My New Necklace Should Be........

A camera!!!

Tonight I decided that I should keep my camera within my reach at all times. I was sitting on the couch watching 'Desperate Housewives' and little Oscie Boy came and sat on the arm of the couch with me. This is not an unusual occurrence but what happened next was! Oscar sat there for a few minutes getting his neck and back patted and after a few minutes, I stopped and was watching T.V. He decided to leave, or so I thought. Instead of leaving the couch he walked along the back about halfway. He then decided that maybe he would climb down onto the cushions. I just thought he was going to walk across and either go onto the floor or onto the coffee table. Much to my surprise he stopped and began sniffing the quilt I had over my legs.....then he began kneading and before I knew it he cuddled up against my leg and layed down. Can you believe it????? He sat there purring away and let me pat him for half and hour!!!! I could have kicked myself at not having the camera right there with me. I guess the million or so times I've told him that cuddling was not so bad has finally sunk in. He always seems quite interested when Soonie comes and cuddles, but has not come for a cuddle when I'm awake since he was a little kitten.

Not too much has been going on here this week. I had a serious siatic (sp) nerve flare-up this week and could barely walk for 3 days! When I thought it was better, I would go in the car and drive and the seat hit just the right spot and when I got out....I could hardly walk again! Yesterday and today it seems to be much better. maybe I'll be able to bowl this week. Last week I bowled only 1 game on Thursday. Monday it was so bad when I got to the bowling centre, Bruce immedialtely called for a spare for me. I watched the first 2 games and was so uncomfortable, that I decided to go home and rest it.

Bruce had to work all weekend as we had the CTF (Canadian Tenpin Federation) Youth provincials there. It will be another long week for him getting prepared for the Edmonton Open next weekend. I am working during the tournament, so I will be there all weekend too. Bruce doesn't have to work, just go in early and make sure that there are no major problems with the lanes and then he's bowling.

Not much else to report. The snow is slowly melting. We had some rain yesterday and then a scuff of snow last night (better than the heavy snowfall warning they were predicting yesterday afternoon).

Spring Has Sprung????????

Spring has sprung, the grass has rissed????? I don't think so!!!!!



So apparently my 'Blogger Ghost' has returned tonight as it took me about 15 tries to upload 3 photos on here. It is quite frustrating. I thought I would post a couple of the pics I took today of what nature DUMPED on us in 24 hours. According to the weather network today, we got the most snow in this storm at 22 cm. Anyone for a barbeque?

Poor Bruce shoveled the walks again today and then had to dig his car out of the driveway again when he had to go to the store. The front walks weren't too bad as I had those 2 boys shovel them yesterday. I don't think that Bruce hurt his back again though. At least he hasn't complained about it at all today or yesterday! Guess what? Tomorrow marks the beginning of SPRING!!! Spring may spring tomorrow, but I certainly don't think the grass will rise for quite some time!



Here is a photo just for Joanne...............It is Oscar's latest hiding place. Can you guess where it is??????? He slept here for most of this evening.

If you guessed the towel cupboard in the bathroom, you're right! He even manages to open the cupboard door so he can get in there. Now unfortunately I can't put away all the towels or Oscie won't be able to climb in there and hide!!! I don't spoil the little guy at all, do I ???

I guess that's all for tonight. D.H. was a repeat so I won't go into that at all.

In Like a Lion and Still Roaring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, has everyone had enough of March yet???? Like I said a couple of weeks ago March came in like a lion and it's still roaring! We have received a huge amount of snow in the last 24 hours. Bruce shoveled a path out to his car this morning, while it was warming up as he had to go to work. I went out around 2:00 this afternoon and waded through snow that was halfway up my calf. In the driveway the snow was up to my knees!!!! I was planning on going to fill my car up, get some stamps and a few groceries and then head over to Gateway to see Bruce. I managed to get the car out of the garage and through the huge amount of snow on the driveway and down the alley. When I looked at the streets my plans quickly changed. I went to IGA and picked up what we needed for the next couple of days and came back home. The roads were horrendous. I did get sort of stuck in the driveway when I came home, but after a few forwards and reverses I figured I was okay and got out to open the garage door. I had visions of stepping on the gas and not being able to brake in time and smashing into the garage door. So that was my excitement for today. YAWN!!!!

Bruce's PT Cruiser must ride lower to the ground than my car. He got stuck in the alley and had to shovel out some of the snow and then 1/2 of the driveway. His back has been bad so he didn't do any more. This afternoon the doorbell rang and 2 teenage boys asked if I would like the snow shoveled. They did the front walks for $10. I figured that was good. It needs to be shoveled again though. maybe tomorrow I will take a few photos of this snowfall and post them.

Not much else to report, so I guess I will close for now.

This Week's D.H. Thru My Eyes!!!!

Well what did ya'll think of 'Housewives' on Sunday? Carlos and Gabrielle certainly hit a roadblock on their adoption idea didn't they? Even if John's mom hadn't worked at the adoption agency, don't you think that a reputable agency does background checks of prospective parents? Wouldn't it be just a little suspicious that the photo album they brought of Lynette and Tom's children contained only recent photos.....No baby photos of their 'god-children'? I thought it was hilarious when Gaby was trying to come up with the names of the kids. She never did get 'Penny' out of her mouth!

Tom seems to be a little jealous of Lynette these days. He doesn't like her being his boss. I think it's funny that they haven't brought up the fact that it is his fault that he's in the position he's in. It was Tom's decision to become a 'househusband' and when he got bored of that, to go to work in the same company as Lynette. What did he expect??????

Poor Mike!! It doesn't look like he will be having a good relationship with Zach anytime soon. Even though he was the one that was there for Zach when Paul was arrested and disappeared for a bit. Carl was quite vicious when Mike brought Susan flowers before her surgery. Telling him that Dr. Ron (is that his last name? Does he have a given name?) gave a huge bouquet of roses and is ready to tell Susan he loves her.

Then there's Susan. She's got 3 guys hanging on to her all at once. Carl is definitely very possessive of her now that they have 're-married'. He's going to be in deep sh!t the day Edie finds out!!!!! Dr. Ron is just plain dumb. He just wanted her because of her rare 'floating spleen' problem. Now that he has found out that she loves Mike and the nurse spilled the beans on Susan and Carl's remarriage and insurance scam, will he perform the surgery to the best of his ability? I think that something will happen there. Lastly, there good old Mike.....I think he's the one for Susan, but I'm sure there will be a rocky road to get them back together.

We've all got to love Bree. She has her hands full with that some of hers. She certainly hasn't come to terms with her 'problem' though. Going to AA meetings in the 'bad' part of town so no one will know her is typical of Bree. She must have been crying hysterically inside as she poured all that wine down the sink in front of Andrew!!!! Off she goes on Friday to the AA meeting and home to her secret stash of white wine.

Another Grumpy Day!!!!

I had another GRUMPY day today. Little things are beginning to bug me a lot!! Actually they really aren't that little. Thursday, I arrived at the bowling centre around 5:00 pm to have supper with Bruce and do a bit of catching up on my bookwork. After about 45 minutes of sitting there, the bartender came over to bring Bruce and another employee of Gateway a beer. He asked me if I wanted a drink, so I ordered a club soda with lime. At 6:00 I gave up the idea of being served by the waitress and a few minutes later Jill and Ryan arrived and were going to order pizza. I went outside to have a smoke before bowling and when I came back in I ordered from the bowling counter and ate my supper in the bowling centre. Jill and Ryan came out of the lounge and also ordered their pizza from the same girl. They too, were not served in the lounge. Then today, I went over there to help out with the National Classified Zones. On my way, I stopped at 'Tim's' for a coffee. I took it into the lounge and sat down with a few people I know, all of whom had ordered breakfast. I was going to order breakfast too, but once again was totally ignored by the waitress. Now I'm really pi$$ed off with the staff there and am determined not to eat there. In fact I am seriously considering bringing my own food with me for the next while.

To top off my day at the bowling centre, I picked up some papers (the standings after 4 games) only to have them taken out of my hands and I was told that I couldn't look at them. This was after everyone had finished the 5th game and they were about to announce the winners. I was helping with the friggin' tournament. I should be able to see the stats! I feel like I don't even want to help out there anymore. I have better things to do than sit there for 4 or 5 hours on a Sunday!!!!

More on the Thursday financials....................I finally got a bank reconciliation statement on Wednesday. It is a disaster. Almost every entry of our Thursday monies is different than what I receive on my collection sheet copy. The statement is not sorted by dates, so you are looking all over the place for entries. I spent all day Thursday and Friday and again last night trying to sort through the financials for the league. It's NUTS and impossible to figure out. I think I added several thousand grey hairs to my head the last few days.

I guess that's enough B!tching for today! Hopefully I will have something more pleasant to write about after D. H. tonight!

Boy Am I Ever GRUMPY!!!!

Today just was not my day! I really don't know what started it, but I sure ended up being very grumpy!!!! I spent a lot of time going through the financial stuff associated with the tournament, trying to figure out what sort of payouts were going to be made. After going through last years stuff I found several things that I just don't agree with. But it is just a bunch of things that are rather boring and complicated explanations and I'm sure you don't care about all the details. Then I had to go and pick up cat food for the Oscar guy and as soon as I walked into the vet's office the receptionist disappeared into the back for like 10 minutes. She finally returned and I got the food and left for the bowling centre. That is when things went really bad for me.

Last Thursday I asked for a bank reconciliation statement so I could try and balance our books for the Thursday league. I asked for it yesterday and again today. I was told that I would get it Thursday. I wanted to get it done for Thursday. That really pi$$ed me off. I was told at the beginning of the season that we got them once a month. Last week I was told that we only got them when we asked for them. Because of the bookkeeping system they use for pre-bowls in the leagues it is IMPOSSIBLE for anyone to figure out how much prize money has been paid or is owed without it. Then our dinner sat on the warming counter for 10 minutes. I was not impressed at all.

Then tonight Bruce didn't bowl because he has a very sore back and he went and drank beer in the lounge while I attended to the scores and the pot games. 12 of the teams finished bowling and the other 4 teams still had a game to go. I was not impressed at all. Then you get some yahoo coming up and asking how he is standing. I wasn't that polite to him as I still had 7 scores to wait for in order to finish up the pot games.

5 random things about me .....weird or otherwise

1. I have 3 very weird cats. One who likes to outside, even when it's very cold and the snow almost covers her. The second is a strange little (??????) orange creature who won't eat out of her dish unless you put more kibbles in it (even when the bowl is full!!!). The third is my kitten, who I am just his guardian of, Oscar likes to follow me around the house and lately likes to jump into the bathtub when I'm in the bathroom!

2. I used to watch HGTV 24/7 but got bored with the new programming and home fix-up shows. Now there are no craft shows on at all!!!!

3. I sleep best on the couch.

4. I miss our puppy!

5. I love to eat salads, but HATE making them!
