My Year is Winding Down.....Finally!!!

I've crossed another thing off my list of things pending........Thursday league. We had our banquet tonight. It was okay. The majority of bowlers voted to go to the Comedy Factory after our dinner, but when all was said and done only 23 bothered to stay. Also my count for the banquet was 91 and there was only about 70 there. We may have to eat the cost of some of the meals:( That league can be SOOOOOOOOOOOOO wishy washy it's ridiculous. Anyway, the dinner I ordered was very good. We had Turkey and Roast Beef. Needless to say, anyone who knows me knows that I had turkey and it was YUMMO!!!!!!

Last weekend we had the CTF National Mixed Championships at Gateway. I must say, it was the most UNFULFILLING tournament I have ever been involved with. I was there for every shift, including the Thursday night one with only 3 bowlers. Not one person from CTF even thanked us for our work. By Sunday night I was exhausted and very sore. Now there is just one more tournament, the CTF Youth Championships at the end of May. I have a few things to do for that one. I'm designing the tickets for the banquet and doing a transportation pass also. I'll get to work on these in the next couple of days. I did a congratulatory banner up and all we've gotten is grief over it. CTF is being a pain regarding bilingualism. This is supposed to be a major fundraiser and the time is slipping away from us because of Head Office.

Tomorrow I have to go out and look for a new cordless phone. Ours died either last night or today. This morning I picked up the main handset and the light on the base didn't go out like usual. When you tried to call out on them, you got connecting.... connecting.... connecting....... UNAVAILABLE. I tried calling the home # from my cell and got a busy signal?????? After about 45 minutes of calling 3 different #'s at Telus, I finally got an answer. Try an old corded phone. Once I found a phone, I discovered it was the cordless phones. We are thinking of transferring over to Shaw digital phone. We'll see in the next little while.

I suppose I've bored you enough about my exciting life ??????. I'm tired and I think I'll lay down on the couch for a while now. :-0

Why Do I Shop at Wally World????

This is the question I have been pondering since I arrived back home after a VERY FRUSTRATING visit to the local WalMart. I left here at around 6:15 pm this evening with a list of what I needed to look for there. I got there and immediately made my way around the store and got what I needed (toothpaste, new toothbrushes, shampoo, acid reducer, Advil, T.P. plus I saw some nice placemats and chair pads) quite quickly. Then the FUN??????????? began.........waiting in line for a cashier. I'll bet there were 30 people waiting for the cashiers, all TWO of them!!!!! To top it off one of the cash registers that was open was an express (8 items or less)!!! What a crock of Sh!t!!! Now WalMart sells groceries and there are VERY FEW people that go in there for 8 items or less. I stood in line with 9 people ahead of me for 30 minutes. Just as I got to the till, they opened another cash line. If I hadn't had to dig out my purse from the cart, I may have just walked out leaving my cart in the middle of the aisle like another woman. I got back into my car at 8:15pm.

I think it will be a FROSTY Friday in H E double hockey sticks, until I make my way back to that store.

Stranger Than Fiction?????????

Something very unusual has been happening here in our house lately.................

We all know how affectionate our little Clara has always been. But when she wanted to be petted, she came over and jumped up on you and walked back and forth over you to get her pets. Well, in the last couple of weeks she has been jumping up on Bruce, yes Bruce, and laying down on his lap. She also is hardly ever around during the day, but as soon as Bruce comes home........Clara is here. She is also his Texas Hold 'em partner. Whenever he is playing she's right there on the other chair next to him.

Now this change in our Clara has caused some very jealous feelings on Soonie's part. You can see her jealousy every once in a while. Today, she was sitting with me and she saw Clara coming into the living room. The next thing I know she is jumping off of me and onto Bruce's lap. You can just imagine what's going on in her brain.............nah nah nah poo poo, I'm sitting with Bru uce!!!!!! Meow!

What makes this so crazy is Bruce is not a cat person. He just tolerates them. He NEVER, EVER feeds them (except when I'm away). Actually, I think that he really does like them. He does talk to them when they are sitting with him. And he does give them pets and plays silly games with them, like covering their ears and telling them that they look silly with no ears. Oscar is the only one that doesn't go to him. That's because he's afraid Bruce will pick him up!!!!!!!!!!!! Oscar only comes to cuddle with me when there is no one else around or in the middle of the night when no one can see. He's such a strange little guy!!!!!!!!!!!!
